One of the biggest reasons I love my Thermomix® is simple: it saves me time.
Like so many people, my days are busy. I’m a teacher, a wife, a mum, and I’m often trying to fit dinner, meal prep, housework and everything else into an already full day. I still want to make fresh, homemade food, but I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen every night.
That’s where my Thermomix® TM7 has made such a difference.
It doesn’t magically make the day longer, but it does take away so many little jobs that normally add up. Here are some of the ways it saves me time every week.
1. It chops in seconds
Onions, garlic, herbs, vegetables, nuts — instead of standing at the bench chopping everything by hand, I can add ingredients to the bowl and have them chopped in seconds.
2. I can weigh ingredients straight into the bowl
No need to get out separate scales, measuring cups and multiple bowls.
I can weigh ingredients directly into the Thermomix® bowl as I cook, which means fewer dishes, less mess and much less stopping and starting.
3. It cooks while I do something else
This is probably one of my favourite time-saving features.
Once the Thermomix® is cooking and stirring, I don’t need to stand over the stove constantly watching the pot.
I can unpack school bags, prepare lunches, tidy the kitchen, put washing on or simply sit down for a few minutes while dinner continues cooking.
4. Guided Cooking takes away the thinking
Some days the hardest part of dinner isn’t actually cooking — it’s deciding what to make and remembering all the steps.
Cookidoo® Guided Cooking walks me through recipes step by step, including quantities, temperatures, times and speeds.
It means I can try recipes I might otherwise avoid because they look too complicated or time consuming.

5. I can cook several things at once
Using the bowl, simmering basket and Varoma®, I can cook multiple parts of a meal at the same time.
For example, I can have a sauce cooking in the bowl while vegetables steam above.
That means fewer pots on the stove and fewer things I need to keep checking.
6. It makes meal prep faster
I love using my Thermomix® to prepare food ahead for the week.
Things like pancake batter, muffins, breakfast items, sauces, dips, soups and freezer meals are much quicker to prepare when the chopping, mixing, blending and cooking can all happen in the same appliance.
Even spending a short amount of time preparing food ahead can make busy weekdays feel much easier.
7. Doughs are quick and easy
Bread, pizza dough, scrolls and other dough-based recipes can be mixed and kneaded directly in the Thermomix®.
I don’t have to knead everything by hand or pull out another appliance.
And homemade pizza night suddenly feels much more achievable after a long day.
8. Sauces and soups are mostly hands-off
Before owning a Thermomix®, making a soup or sauce often meant chopping everything first, cooking it in a saucepan, stirring it, transferring it to a blender and then cleaning everything afterwards.
Now I can often chop, sauté, cook and blend in the same bowl.
That alone can save a surprising amount of time.

9. Clean-up is easier
Saving time isn’t only about cooking.
It is also about how long you spend cleaning afterwards.
Because so many steps happen in the one bowl, I generally use fewer pots, pans, chopping boards, measuring cups and utensils.
And anything that reduces the washing-up gets my vote.
10. It makes cooking from scratch more realistic
This is probably the biggest benefit for me.
I want to make more food from scratch and know what ingredients are going into the meals I’m feeding my family.
But I also know that if something takes too long, I’m much more likely to reach for the easier option.
The Thermomix® helps bridge that gap.
I can make things like bread, sauces, stock paste, dips, cakes, soups and family dinners without feeling as though I need to spend my whole day in the kitchen.
It’s not about cooking more — it’s about making cooking easier
For me, the biggest benefit of the Thermomix® isn’t that I suddenly spend all day making elaborate meals.
It’s actually the opposite.
It helps me spend less time doing repetitive kitchen jobs while still allowing me to make fresh, homemade food.
Those few minutes saved chopping, stirring, weighing, kneading and cleaning really do add up over the course of a week.
And when life is busy, getting some of that time back is incredibly valuable.
